The University of Windsor has announced that General Contractors will transform the Ron. W. Ianni Law Building.
It is a joint venture involving the Ellis Don Corporation and Fortis Construction Group.
The same contractors are currently working on the Lancer Centre.
"We look forward to working with them," said Law Dean Christopher Waters. "They are mobilizing this month for a January 2021 start to construction."
The budget for the project has increased by 15 per cent primarily due to the pandemic. The University's Board of Governors approved the increase.
Windsor Law is currently trying to raise $6-million to cover the $5.3-million cost.
"The generosity and investments of alumni and friends will see us break through that target before the project is completed roughly two years from now," said Waters.
The Law Faculty moved across campus earlier this fall until it is safe to return to the Ron W. Ianni Building.
