UPDATE: Power restored in south Windsor

Some residents in south Windsor may have wondered why they were without power Thursday evening.

Over 1,500 Enwin Utilities customers in the city's south end lost electricity at around 8:52 p.m. and the cause was reportedly under investigation.

Power was being restored to the majority of customers by 11 p.m. Thursday, and just before 1 a.m. Friday, EnWin reported that all customers had the lights back on.

No other details on what may have caused the temporary blackout have been provided. Brief thunderstorms had gone through the area earlier Thursday evening, but EnWin did not say if this outage was connected.
