The temporary location of the Youth Wellness Hub Windsor-Essex is now open.
The hub offers youth aged 12-25 mental health, addictions, housing, and vocational services in a single location. The services are all available without a referral and with no wait times.
"We want to make sure that it's available immediately for those youth so that we can mitigate any risks that are there for whatever that youth is experiencing," said Operations Manager Michelle Rocheleau.
The hub is located at Maryvale- Cottage 6 until a more permanent location can be secured. All of the programs and services have been established with the help of a youth-led committee. The committee was also responsible for making sure the facility is welcoming for young people.
The Canadian Mental Health Association of Windsor Essex is looking to raise around $5 million to establish the permanent location. They hope to find a centralized location that will be easily accessible along with some satellite locations in the county.
