Lakeshore kicks off development incentive program

The Municipality of Lakeshore has begun an initiative to encourage both urban and rural development.

The application period has opened up for the Rural and Main Street Development Incentive Program.

Businesses throughout Lakeshore may apply to receive grants or rebates ranging from $1,300 to $16,500.

"From Lighthouse Cove to Emeryville, Stoney Point to Woodslee, supporting rural economic development means investing in the communities where residents shop, gather, and connect," said Mayor Tracey Bailey. "By offering targeted grants, we’re strengthening our incredible main streets and businesses throughout our communities while positioning the municipality for long-term economic success."

Grants are available to support beautification, development charges, public art, signage improvements, restoration, and other projects.

Applications must be submitted through Lakeshore's online portal.

Projects must begin within six months of approval and be completed within two years.

Complete information and eligibility requirements can be found on the Municipality's official website.
