The Greater Essex County District School Board doesn't anticipate welcoming students to its new school in Windsor's Forest Glade until September 2023 now.
That's eight months after the last scheduled opening date for Eastview Horizon Public School. Last September, school board officials said the school would open in January 2023.
The school board had hoped to open it last September, but construction delays made the timeline impossible.
The school, on Stillmeadow Road, will eventually house students from Parkview Public School and Eastwood Public School.
Parkview closed last June.
Public Relations Officer Scott Scantlebury said the combined school communities are learning in the same building, Eastwood Public School, in anticipation of the new school's completion.
