A 13-year-old LaSalle teen is improving in a London hospital after a tree branch fell on him on Thursday after a major ice storm in the region.
Paramedics rushed Christian Murphy to the hospital after the mishap on the west side of LaSalle near Front Road.
LaSalle Police Constable Terry Seguin was among emergency officials cautioning the public to stay away from ice-laden trees after the incident.
"I don't think it was a terribly huge branch, but obviously big enough to cause significant injuries," he said.

Murphy was transferred to London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) and admitted to the intensive care unit.
In a media over social media, his mother, Adrienne Murphy, said he was improving. Doctors removed his breathing tube on Thursday night. By morning, he was awake and talking. He's expected to have an MRI on Friday.
An LHSC spokesman told WindsorNewsToday.ca Friday afternoon that Murphy's condition was upgraded to fair.
In the meantime, a GoFundMe campaign has been set up to support his family during the ordeal.
More to come.
