Matthew House of Windsor is expanding with a west-end location to help support the influx of refugees in the region.
The new location will be located in the former House of Sophrosyne on Chappell Avenue. It will provide 11 rooms to house up to 40 people.
"This is a place where vulnerable men, women, and children can arrive and heal and as they heal then they can very quickly become self-sufficient contributing members of our community," said Executive Director Mike Morency.
The Matthew House is looking to raise $150,000 to help operate and furnish its new location. Donations can be made online.
It's expected to open on June 1.
The Matthew House also operates a home in Forest Glade. Between the two facilities, it's expected they will be able to shelter around 300 people a year.
