Clean Harbors is inching closer to winning approval for a vertical expansion of its Brigden-area landfill.
Company Director of Environmental Compliance Michael Parker says the Environment Ministry has completed its public review of the Environmental Assessment and passed its recommendations on to the Minister.

The company will soon apply for Environmental Compliance Approval for to the $10-million expansion. Municipal zoning and planning amendments must also be approved.
The 50-year-old facility is the only one in Ontario able to accept hazardous waste but it's almost at capacity.
