Local efforts continue to ramp up in support of those displaced by the Fort McMurray wildfires.
Lara Sazonov and Jen Barton are putting on a bake sale Tuesday at the Bayside Centre with all proceeds going towards Red Cross relief efforts.
Sazonov says the money raised will be matched by TD and the federal government.
"The more we can make the better because it's for such a great cause," she says. "Being so far away, we feel helpless. We want to help and do something, but there's not much we can do. We have families, and jobs and stuff, we can't go out there."
"We decided that raising money would be the best way."
Some of the goodies for sale include cupcakes, cookies, pies, puppy chow mix and more.
Local community partners have helped put on the event, including Junior Baker, Copper Kettle Catering and services from The Painted Cat.
Anyone who would like to donate money or baked goods can stop by the Bayside Centre in front of Lambton Shared Services Centre Tuesday from 10am-2pm.
