Union Gas says it's still trying to gauge the impact of the newly implemented cap and trade program on home owners and businesses in Sarnia-Lambton.
The program was put in place by the Ontario Liberals in January in an effort to lower emmisions.
There's now a cap on how many tonnes of greenhouse gas pollution a company can emit. They can then trade for credits with companies that are under the limit.
Union Gas President Steve Baker says there are still a lot of questions surrounding cap and trade.
"We're getting a lot of questions from businesses in terms of what is the cost of cap and trade," says Baker. "It's not shown seperately on our bills, it's included within our delivery charges so businesses are asking us what the cap and trade cost is. The second question is, how can I be more efficient and reduce my consumption."
Baker says it's important Ontario remains competive with businesses in the United States.
He says Union Gas offers a number of energy efficiency programs to help businesses reduce consumption and the impact of cap and trade.
