Point Edward Council has taken the first step in the eventual development of the Bridge Tavern property on Michigan Ave.
Village CAO Jim Burns says no bids were received for the site by the August 30 deadline.
He says if the village eventually takes possession, it would likely write off the $400,000 owed in taxes.
No decision has been made on developing the site.
The historic Bridge Tavern closed on June 30 of 2017 after almost 60 years.
The Brodimas family owned the establishment for 38 years.
