Sarnia residents are so interested in the history of city streets, city hall can't keep up with the overwhelming demand for the Streets of Sarnia book.
Mayor Mike Bradley says the book has been a phenomenal success, selling at least 500 copies so far.
"It took Randy Evans and Tom St. Amand three years to compile it, to research, and they did an incredible job of doing that," said Bradley. "The book has been printed at city hall at cost and we simply have run out of the ability to continue to print the book."
He said they're working to have it printed privately to sell it for the same cost of $6.30.
"I think it's really been a good example of how local history matters to people. People coming in and getting two, three, four books to give to friends and neighbours, has been just excellent."
Bradley said anyone who already contacted city hall and put their name on a wait list, will receive a copy and be notified when it's ready to be picked up.
He said an announcement will be made when copies are available at city hall again.
