COVID-19 safety measures are being ramped-up at Sarnia City Hall as a precaution to prevent the spread of the virus.
The building will undergo a deep cleaning over the next several days, and several city employees will be working from home until further notice.
City Hall remains open, and all services are still available to the public.
City Human Resources spokesman Dale Mosley said a few factors have contributed to the decision.
"Those factors were a spike in local cases, both in Lambton county and provincially," said Mosley. "The number of workplace outbreaks that have occurred locally are also playing a role."
Mosley said the health and safety of staff is a top priority, and the public is being asked for patience as further changes could occur.
Lambton Public Health reported 10 new cases Thursday morning as well as three recoveries.
The number of active cases in Sarnia-Lambton was at 34 as of Thursday, and there were four COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health.
