Organizers are thrilled to see more participants sign up for Rayjon's third annual trail and ale fundraiser in Sarnia.
Rayjon Share Care Executive Director Heather Smith said 130 people registered for this year's event, which is the most they've ever had.
"This is our first time where we have almost entirely live participants," said Smith.
The event's inaugural year was supposed to be held live but was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year's event took a hybrid approach.
Participants will make their way along the Howard Watson Nature Trail on Saturday and celebrate afterward at Refined Fool's sports bar.
"Fifteen per cent of sales during [our] after party will support Rayjon's partners in Haiti and the Dominican," said Smith. "All funds from this event are supporting families, helping them to meet their goals through programs like education, microcredit for women, empowerment of women, and health care."
Smith said in total, they're hoping to raise $10,000.
"It's a super fun event! Registration is now closed but we do encourage people to come on out and cheer the participants along."
Smith said another way of participating this year is by donating to one of the registered attendees or by making an online contribution.
Registration for the fourth annual trail and ale fundraiser is expected to open in the spring of 2023.
