SMAA football from Saturday, September 17:

Atom Division: Assante Wealth Management Limited Inferno 42 vs Sylvan Learning Centre Fire Bolts 42 - Landyn Irwin, Ethan Hacker and Liam O'Rourke each scored a pair of touchdowns for the Inferno, with Sean O'Rourke counting a single major. - Davondray Harden-Rose and Dylan Kremer each had three majors for the Fire Bolts, with Calvin Sysel chipping in with a single touchdown.

Metcalfe Photography Shock Wave 24 vs Royal Canadian Legion Branch 62 Iron Hides 6 - Carter Pagano opened the scoring on a 35 yard dash and Owen Layne ran 40 yards to give the Shock Wave a 12-0 halftime lead.  Layne added two more touchdowns in the second half. - Parker Kelly score the Iron Hides' lone touchdown.

PeeWee Division: Ontario Hose Specialties/HSE Integrated Limited Raiders 16 vs Dante Club Avengers 7 - A pair of touchdown runs by quarterback Owen Piggott helped the Raiders to a 16-0 first half lead. - Orion Vasquez ran in a touch down for 66 yards for the Avengers only major.

Ricco Food Distributors Corporation Sky Fire 6 vs Arlanxeo Canada Vortex 6 - Josh Manning ran the opening kick off back 75 yards for a touchdown.  Those were the only points the Sky Fire could manage against a very stingy Vortex defense. - The opening drive of the second half culminated on a 22 yard run by the Vortex's Tyler Hopwood

Bantam Division: The Hair Boutique Bulldogs 36 vs Bigras Painting Tiger Sharks 26 - The Bulldogs exploded for 24 points in the first half on a 35 yard pass from Josh Foulis to David Nolayshimiye, a five yard run by Travis Kerrigan and a second touchdown by Nolayshimiye on a 12 yard run. - Chad Crouse was a force to be reckoned with for the Tiger Sharks, taking the rock to the house twice, on runs of 65 and 66 yards. - The teams traded touchdowns in the remainder of the half.  Crouse counted two more majors for the Sharks.  Kerrigan and Ethan Burnard rounded out the tallies for the Bulldogs.

Mechanical Contractors Association Toros 36 vs Mammoet Crane Mammoths 0 - Ryan Ogden dashed 58 yards for a major on the Toros opening possession.  Midway through the second quarter, Quarterback Jackson Grasse ran in a four yard play to add to the later. One of two rushing touchdowns for Grasse before the first half expired.  Ogden and Nolan Hacker added two more majors. - Josh Hillsdon and Lucchy Guerrier were towers of strength on the Mammoth defense, making numerous tackles.

Indigenous students explore skilled trades

Serveral Indigenous students at the Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board are thinking about futures in the skilled trades after a day at the St. Anne's Skilled Trades Academy Wednesday.
