Huron County IPM Team Creates Ontario Barn Quilt Trail

The quilt and beautification competitions have long been a part of the International Plowing Match.

To celebrate the 100th plowing match and Canada's 150th birthday, the Huron County IPM team has come up with the Ontario Barn Quilt Trail.

Chair of the Beautification Committe Deb Falconer says people can either purchase a quilt or they can make one themselves.

To qualify, quilts must by 8'x8' and visible from the roadway and must be installed by July 1st.

IPM 2017 Chair Jackie Bishop feels the quilts are a great way for people to remember their memories of the plowing match years after it has ended.

All participants will be entered in a draw for $750 cash, presented by Brussels Agri Services and the Cowboy Loft.

The Ontario Barn Quilt Trail can be viewed at www.barnquilttrails.ca.

Deb Falconer can be reached at 519-233-5393 for more information.
