Lions Face Redskins In Washington

All eyes will be on Lions running back Ameer Abdullah when Detroit visits Washington in the second pre-season game this evening.

The rookie running back, who was drafted in the second round, was impressive in the opening game against the Jets, and head coach Jim Caldwell knows it.

"Nobody is going to be surprised at how quick Ameer is, no one's going to be surprised at Laken's (Tomlinson) strength and size as a young guy," says Caldwell. "They're all going to have seen him and looked at him, they'll all have made some kind of prep as well in this particular game, so it (the competition) stiffens a little bit so we're going to see how they progress."

Kick-off is set for 7:30pm.
