Windsor Public Library employees and management are in mediation talks Wednesday in an attempt to prevent a work stoppage.
Management set a deadline of March 24 for a deal to be reached before a strike or employee lockout.
CUPE Local 2067.1 president Amanda Meloche says they've not been at the table since talks broke down at the end of February.
'I'm not going to talk about the issues directly, I'd like to leave bargaining at the table. We just really would like to get back to the table and try to negotiate a fair contract," says Meloche.
The union held an information Tuesday afternoon prior to the Windsor Public Library board meeting. CUPE Local 2067.1 represents 60 employees including librarians, catalogers and maintenance staff.
"Libraries are here to support our communities, we love doing that, we've done that for many years and we take pride in the work that we do and the bonds that we have with our patrons. We would like to avoid a strike," says Meloche.
