Embattled Former Tory Leader Patrick Brown In Windsor Saturday

The former leader of Ontario's Progressive Conservatives will be in Windsor this weekend.

Patrick Brown, who is running to regain the leadership of the party after resigning last month, will be in Windsor Saturday afternoon to help open the campaign office of Mohammad Latif, who is running in Windsor-Tecumseh as a Tory candidate.

The appearance was announced earlier this week but was confirmed in an email to BlackburnNewsWindsor.com by the Latif campaign.

The event is scheduled to begin at 1pm. Latif's headquarters is located at Wyandotte St. E and Pilette Rd.

Brown, the MPP for Simcoe-North resigned as party leader on January 24 after allegations arose against him about inappropriate conduct. He has denied the allegations and said that he quit so he could devote his energy to fighting the charges with an election set for May.

He is now one of five candidates who has filed for the leadership chair, and the only current MPP to do so. The others are Christine Elliott, Doug Ford, Caroline Mulroney and Tanya Granic Allen. Party members will vote for their leader, and the winner will be announced at their convention in Toronto on Saturday, March 10.
