A north London gas station has undergone a deep clean after one of its employees tested positive for COVID-19.
Petro-Canada confirmed in a social media post on Tuesday one of its employees at the location at 1845 Adelaide Street North near Sunningdale Road has been diagnosed with the virus. The staffer last worked at the gas bar on Sunday.
All employees who may have been exposed to the infected worker are now in self-isolation.
"We immediately closed the location and will complete a deep-clean and sanitization before reopening the site," Petro-Canada wrote on Facebook. "The health and safety of team members and guests is our top priority. We thank you for your understanding as we work to keep our community safe."
The company used its Petro-Points system to notify customers directly who had recently fueled up at the gas station.
Anyone who stopped at the location on Sunday with concerns related to the virus is encouraged to contact local public health officials.
The COVID-19 positive case at the gas station comes just days after a food handler at the Real Canadian Superstore at Oxford Street East and Gammage Street tested positive for the virus. The employee worked between May 20, and May 23. The Middlesex London Health Unit urged shoppers who bought store-prepared or store-packaged bakery items during that time to monitor their symptoms and dispose of the purchased products.
The grocery store underwent a thorough cleaning and sanitization and has since reopened.
