ENWIN opens applications for bill relief

If you are having trouble making ends meet and can not pay your ENWIN bill, the utility is offering assistance.

Back at the beginning of June, the Ontario government opened up funding to help residential customers struggling to pay their bills. The COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program is a one-time, on-bill credit to those who are eligible.

ENWIN is now accepting applications for those who:

  • Those are ENWIN customers whose account was in good standing on March 17, 2020, or is enrolled in an arrears payment agreement for amounts owed after March 17.
  • Those who have failed to make a complete payment on at least two bills since the start of the pandemic and has an overdue balance.
  • Those who are unemployed or their spouse living in the same home is unemployed and has received employment insurance or the Canada Emergency Response Benefit.
  •  Applicant must not be receiving financial assistance through the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program or the Ontario Electricity Support Program.
The credit is up to $115.

Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the funding is gone.

You can find the application on ENWIN's website. It can also be downloaded in a PDF and emailed to ceap@enwin.com or mailed to 4545 Rhodes Drive, Windsor, Ontario N8W5T1.

Those who wish more information or do not have access to a computer can also call ENWIN at 519-255-2727.
