Wedding Extravaganza postponed until March

The Wedding Extravaganza '22 Show will make a comeback next year, but engaged couples will have to wait a little longer to go.

It was scheduled for January 15 and 16 at the Caboto Club. Instead, it will be on March 4 and 5.

For the past 21 months, the show collaborated with local wedding businesses by offering curbside pickup of gift bags and virtual wedding planning sessions. It also created Windsor's largest online wedding shopping resource. The event in 2022 will be the first time the show is held in person since the pandemic began.

An expected rise in COVID-19 cases after the holidays was behind the decision to delay the extravaganza.

"Risk management has always been at the forefront of all we have done in the production of our shows and events in the past 34 years," said owner and lead planner Nancy Campana. "It has become apparent that after the holiday season, it may be unavoidable that COVID cases are going to be extremely high. As a show producer, we want to ensure both guests attending the show, and our vendors are in the safest space possible, and doing this in January may be very difficult."

Campana also noted the wedding industry was hit hard by the pandemic.

Ticket holders for the January event can use their tickets for the March date. Tickets are also available for those who have not purchased one.
