Dilkens commits to staying the path to bolster neighbourhoods

If re-elected, Windsor mayoral candidate Drew Dilkens says he will continue on his current path of building up the city's neighbourhoods.

His plan includes continuing the districting of key neighbourhoods and park infrastructure renewal plans.

"If you want to continue down this path and make bold investments that are going to build our neighbourhoods up, I've proven that I am doing it," said Dilkens. "I've actually taken the budget to city council and council approved unanimously that budget to help fund all of the themeing and districting plans."

During the last few years, city council has approved funding for building a new community pool at Lanspeary Park, completing two new dog parks, and redeveloping Adie Knox Herman Recreation Complex into a new community centre.

"I didn't need an election to tell you what I am going to do, I am busy implementing, I'm busy trying to move the city forward at the same time," Dilkens said. "Some of these things you already know we're starting with, we've already got funding from city council. But it's going to take leadership that delivers to get it over the finish line, that's what I offer."

Dilkens says, if elected, he commits to transferring city-owned lands to the creation of the Ojibway National Urban Park and finding a new permanent site for the new downtown library.  His full plan to build up neighbourhoods can be found here.

Also running for mayor in the City of Windsor are Benjamin Danyluk, Aaron Day, Matthew Giancola, Chris Holt, Ernie Lamont, and Louis Vaupotic.

The municipal election is on October 24, 2022.
