Santa Claus is coming to town Saturday night

Volunteers have been putting the final touches on the floats in the upcoming Windsor Santa Claus parade for weeks, and Saturday night, they'll show them off.

The 54th Annual Windsor Santa Claus Parade will start at 6 p.m. and make its way along Wyandotte Street East from Devonshire Road to Aylmer Avenue.

This year's theme is "Find the Magic of Christmas."

The public is encouraged to participate in a scavenger hunt that started last month and continues until December 15.

You might want to come to the parade location early. This year, the Windsor Parade Corporation is introducing new Fan Zones where families can take part in activities with a Christmas theme.

The Fan Zone, at Ten Friends Dinner on Wyandotte Street East between Gladstone Avenue and Moy Avenue, is open from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

If you miss this year's parade in Windsor, Santa will be at the one in Essex next Saturday. It starts at 6:30 p.m. on December 10 along Talbot Street North from Fairview Avenue to Maidstone Avenue. The Fan Zone for that event is next to Blimey's British Store and Gift Shop from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
