LaSalle police recover homicide suspect's body

The body of the man believed to be responsible for his wife’s homicide has been recovered.

On Monday, the Windsor Police Service Marine Unit was called after a boater located a body in the Detroit River between the Ambassador Bridge and Fighting Island. The marine unit notified the LaSalle Police Serice Criminal Investigation Unit, which was able to confirm that it was Blair Lyons.

On March 19, 2022, police identified Blair Lyons as the primary suspect in the murder of Amanda Lyons, 34. His vehicle was found early that morning abandoned on the Ambassador Bridge. Investigators retrieved video evidence that Blair Lyons jumped from the bridge into the Detroit River.

Police conducted multiple searches of the water around that time but were unable to locate his body.

The families of Amanda Lyons and Blair Lyons have been notified by the LaSalle Police Service and are asking the public and the media for their privacy and compassion.
