United Way distributing recovery fund

The United Way Centraide Windsor-Essex County is accepting applications for the Community Services Recovery Fund.

The organization was selected by the Canadian government to distribute $1.126 million in Windsor-Essex, and $300,000 for Chatham-Kent. The fund is dedicated to support charities and non-profits as they work to recover after the pandemic.

“The Government is supporting the long-term COVID-19 pandemic recovery in communities across Canada through this historic fund. This transformational investment with the National Funders supports a more inclusive model of economic growth that creates opportunities at the community level. The Community Services Recovery Fund will strengthen the ability of community service organizations, including charities, non-profits, and Indigenous governing bodies, to deliver services and resources where they will have the most impact," said Minister of Families, Children and Social Development Karina Gould.

Organizations working in arts and culture, housing, education, social services, sports and recreation, and faith-based organizations are all welcome to apply.

Applications are being accepted until February 21, 2023.  Full details on the application process can be found here.
