WIFF showing more films than ever before

The 19th Windsor International Film Festival will feature 186 feature films and documentaries and 38 short films over the 11-day festival.

There will be over 300 screenings throughout the festival, opening on October 26 with Tran Anh Hung’s 'The Pot-au-Feu' and closing on November 5 with Sean Menard’s '299 Queen Street West.'

"The opening film they are really going to love. It's a beautiful cooking movie called the 'Pot-au-Feu.' People are just going to love that film," said Executive Director Vincent Georgie. "299 Queen Street West, that MuchMusic documentary, is so much fun. It's so nostalgic, people have been talking about that one incessantly."

The film festival will highlight 54 Francophone films and include a spotlight on films on housing, Detroit, and architecture.

The Mark Boscariol 48-Hour FlickFest will be held on Friday, Nov. 3.

This year the festival is offering special ticket packages for those looking for the full WIFF VIP experience as well as ticket bundles at a discount.

"Tickets are on sale now at windsorfilmfestival.com, everything is there. We're really, really proud of the lineup and it's a great reflection on Windsor because all of this happens in Windsor, in our home town and I can't wait to bring in all of our guests," said Georgie.
