Police looking to speak to a driver after downtown shooting

Windsor police are hoping to speak to the driver who picked up a suspect wanted in connection to a downtown shooting over the weekend.

Shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday, police were called to the area of Ouellette Street and Park Street for reports of shots fired.

A 23-year-old was shot in the arm and two other people were grazed by bullets.

Investigators obtained surveillance footage from several homes and businesses in the area.

In one video, the suspect is seen hiding behind a parked car while speaking to someone on the phone. The suspect is then seen getting into a white Honda Civic on Park Street.

"We urge the driver of the Civic, who may not have been aware of the shooting at the time, to come forward and speak with investigators," said police in their latest media release.

The shooter is described as a white man, 19-23 years old, 150lbs, 5’7”, with short black hair and a small build. At the time of the offence, he wore a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and black shoes.

Police continue to ask residents and businesses to check their surveillance video between 1 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. on November 5 for possible evidence.
