Following an extensive nationwide search by Odgers Berndtson, the Board of Governors at St. Clair College has appointed a new president.
Michael Silvaggio takes over from Patti France and becomes the college's seventh president when he assumes his new duties on June 1, 2024.
Silvaggio started his career at St. Clair College in 2000 as a clerk in the accounts payable department. Since then, he's been the associate registrar, associate vice president of student services, and registrar. In April 2022, he was appointed vice-president, academic and registrar.
"Michael Silvaggio embodies the core values of St. Clair College," said Board of Governors Chair Jean Piccinato. "His leadership is expected to usher in a new era of prosperity for the college and the broader community."
The college has over 16,000 full-time students at campuses in Windsor, Chatham, and the Greater Toronto Area. It offers more than 120 advanced diplomas, diplomas, degrees, and graduate certificates in health, technology, business, media arts, and social services.
