Windsor Councillor Jo-Anne Gignac thinks the goose population in the city has reached a dangerous level.
The flocks have been known to cross Riverside Drive, causing car accidents and have attacked residents enjoying the city's parks and trails.
"I think it's time again for us to look at any options that might be available to us to look at controlling that population from growing even further because we know that there are no natural predators for these birds," said Gignac.
The Environment and Climate Change Canada-Canadian Wildlife Service can issue permits for a cull or other management tools.
Permits could be issued to destroy eggs, relocate birds or nests, or kill the birds in specific circumstances.
"I did mention in my council question that it should also move up to approaching the Ministry of Natural Resources to look at whether or not a cull is appropriate at this time," said Gignac.
