The regulatory body of Ontario nursing has scheduled a hearing for a former nurse who worked at Stellantis' Windsor Assembly Plant.
According to the notice of hearing from the College of Nursing of Ontario (CNO), the male nurse is accused of several counts of professional misconduct that allegedly took place while he was working at the plant.
A Zoom hearing is set for February 26.
Complaints were filed against the man by a female plant employee and three nursing colleagues. The plant employs a staff of registered nurses to make health care available to staff.
The alleged incidents took place over a period beginning in June 2020 and ending in March 2021.
One complainant, known as "Patient A", accused the nurse of inappropriate touching, repeatedly asking her for her phone number, and asking her out multiple times.
Another complainant, known in the notice as "Nurse A", accused the man of hugging her without her consent, sexually propositioning her, and repeatedly asking her out.
A woman identified as "Nurse B" accused the man of making inappropriate comments about women's bodies and sending inappropriate text messages.
A complainant known as "Nurse C" accused the nurse of grabbing her thigh without her consent and holding it until she moved away.
According to the CNO website, the nurse first registered in August 1982 and resigned from membership in the College in December 2021.
The nurse also had a licence to practice in Michigan.
The CNO's Code of Conduct lists six principles. They include respecting the client's dignity, providing inclusive and culturally safe care by practicing cultural humility, providing safe and competent care, working respectfully with the health care team, acting with integrity in the client's best interest, and maintaining public confidence in the nursing profession.
