Leamington to offer free rides to grade 8 students over March Break

The Municipality of Leamington has brought back an initiative that is designed to introduce young people to public transportation.

Leamington's LT-Go Grade 8 program has returned, and the Municipality will distribute a free pass for the on-demand transit service to grade 8 students to use during March Break.

"Introducing our young residents to public transit through the LT-Go Grade 8 program is more than just about providing free rides, it's about instilling a sense of independence and responsibility," said Mayor Hilda MacDonald. "As they learn to navigate our transit system, we're also preparing them for future challenges, whether that's commuting to work, attending higher education, or exploring new communities. Our goal is to nurture a generation that values and uses public transportation throughout their lives."

Grade 8 students will have unlimited access to the LT-Go system from March 8 to March 16. The Municipality is working with the local school boards to distribute the passes.

Complete information on the LT-Go transit system can be found on the Municipality's official website.
