Pelissier Street Parking Garage goes to the dogs on Saturday

The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association wants dog owners and their dogs to check out its Canine Carnival on Saturday at the Pelissier Street Parking Garage.

It's billing it its "Dog Days of Summer" event. It starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m.

If your pet needs training, there's a dog-training demonstration at 10 a.m.

"Every dog has a unique style and personality. Training them brings out their best," said dog training Kb Singh.

An hour later, pooches will strut their stuff down the runway at the Doggie Fashion Show.

"This event is a celebration of the incredible bond between dogs and their owners," said DWBIA Chair Chris MacLeod.

At 12:30 p.m., Windsor Police Constable Marc Tremblay and his canine partner, Rolex, will drop by to tell visitors about their vital role in the community.

St. John's Ambulance Pet Therapy is bringing some of their furry counsellors who bring comfort and joy to those in distress.

Vendors include Knits by Tracey, Laura's Classy Canines, Mmabia Baskets, Pawfectly Groomed and the Black Bone Barkery.
