Driver arrested after traffic stop in Leamington

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested a driver for alleged impaired driving.

Officers from the Leamington detachment stopped a vehicle at around 1 a.m. Monday, on Lutsch Avenue.

After an investigation, it was determined that the driver was impaired and he was arrested.

A 25-year-old Leamington man is charged with impaired driving, driving with excessive blood-alcohol concentration, operating as a Class G-1 licence holder while unaccompanied by a qualified driver, and failure to notify with a change of address.

The charges have not been proven in court. The suspect will have an opportunity to respond to the counts in a Windsor court on September 25.

The vehicle was automatically impounded for seven days, and the suspect's licence is suspended for 90 days.
