OPP charge speeding driver with impaired driving

For the fourth time this week, the Ontario Provincial Police say they charged a driver in the south end of Essex County with impaired driving.

This time, a 29-year-old Leamington man is charged after a traffic stop on Mersea Road 1 in Leamington.

Officers stopped the vehicle around 10 p.m. on Monday for speeding and discovered the driver didn't have valid insurance.

Cannabis was readily available to the driver in the car, and the driver was over the legal blood-alcohol limit.

On Wednesday, the OPP said it arrested a Tilbury man for impaired driving after a crash on Milo Road in Leamington, and another collision on Monday morning on County Road 20 resulted in charges against a Kingsville man. A 25-year-old Leamington man was also charged on Monday during a traffic stop on Lutsch Road.
