Services set for Windsor couple killed in Lambton County

A Windsor couple married for 57 years will be remembered in services set for Thursday.

A joint funeral service will take place Thursday for Omer and Marilyn Hageniers.

The couple was killed on Wednesday afternoon, September 11, in a crash in Brooke-Alvinston. An obituary from Families First Funeral Home said they were on a trip celebrating their wedding anniversary.

"They were involved with many community groups and charities throughout their lives, too many to mention," read the obituary. "Their ultimate joy was to care for family and celebrate all their happy times together. They leave us with the gift of their love, and we will miss them beyond words."

Omer had worked as an engineer, while Marilyn worked as a nurse.

They are survived by two daughters, eight grandchildren, multiple siblings and in-laws, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation has taken place.

Services are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at Families First Funeral Home on Dougall Avenue in Windsor, with internment at Greenhill Cemetery in Kingsville.
