St. Clair Men's Baseball win provincial gold, St. Clair women's softball claim bronze

The St. Clair College Men’s Baseball team is once again OCAA Champions.

They beat Lambton College 4-2 on Saturday to claim their 9th provincial title. OCAA introduced men’s baseball back in 2013 with St. Clair winning each year except for two.

Lambton opened the scoring in the championship game with an RBI single by Luke Murray in the top of the 3rd inning.

St. Clair would take the lead in the bottom half with RBI singles from Henry Real and Owen Levesque.

Lambton would get an RBI single from Logan Buntrock in the top of the 4th inning to tie the game. However, St. Clair would score two more in the bottom half with an RBI triple from Spencer Morin and an RBI single from Rowan Glasgow.

Neither team would score for the rest of the game with St. Clair’s pitchers Michael Grondin and Jonas Le Clair shutting down Lambton’s offense.

Morin was named Championship MVP after batting .777 with four RBI over St. Clair’s three games.

Glasgow and Jake Heinbuch were also named to the Championship All-Star Squad.

St. Clair College Women's Softball team also took the Bronze Medal at the OCAA Championship.

They lost to Humber Polytechnic 3-0 in the semi-finals.

Shae-Lyn Murphy earned player of the game for St. Clair after hitting a double. The only other hit by the team went to July Lafleur.

Humber would lose in the Gold Medal Game to the Durham College.

Meanwhile, the University of Windsor's softball team took home a bronze in the OUS Championship.

This was the Lancers' first provincial softball medal in fifteen years.
