After four major fires in Windsor earlier this week, fire officials are once again urging residents to check their smoke alarms.
Of those four fires, Windsor Fire and Rescue Services says only one of those homes had a working smoke alarm.
Two of the fires this week resulted in fatalities. A man died in the hospital after a fire on Sunday at 920 Ouellette Avenue, while a 71-year-old woman passed away in a fire on Sandwich Street on Monday.
The other two fires were at 810 Ouellette Avenue, not long after Sunday's fire at another apartment fire a block down the street, and on Hansen Crescent.
The Hansen Crescent fire started in the kitchen of the home and caused $200,000 in damages. No one was hurt. That home had working smoke alarms.
