Matt Marchand has a new job as a public affairs and policy analyst with the Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers Association.
Marchand resigned from the Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce as President and CEO in June 2018 to pursue a run for the Mayor of Windsor. He lost the election to Drew Dilkens.
With his background in business, government, and public engagement, the association says Marchand has the right mix for his new role.
A release said, "Matt brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of leadership and innovation to the OGVG. "
"I am very pleased that Matt has decided to join our team and provide his extensive experience," said OGVG Executive Director Richard Lee. "His strategic vision and dedication to excellence will undoubtedly contribute to the continued growth and success of our organization."
Marchand holds a Master of Economics and Political Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science and an Honours Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Windsor.
OGVG represents more than 170 greenhouse farmers, and the sector continues to grow. Over the past decade, growth has averaged six per cent, and it's expected to grow by another five per cent annually for the next ten years.
