Suspect nabbed after five vehicles stolen from auto repair business

Windsor Police made an arrest early Wednesday morning after someone stole vehicles from an auto repair business.

Early Tuesday morning, someone climbed through a window of the business on Tecumseh Road East near Forest Glade Drive and took several sets of car keys. The suspect returned multiple times, driving off with five vehicles.

Later that day, police officers found three vehicles a short distance away. They found the fourth several hours later near Algonquin Street and California Avenue and the fifth on Meadowbrook Lane.

While investigating the crime, police connected the suspect to a theft earlier this month where tools were stolen from a trailer on Forest Glade Drive.

The suspect was under house arrest at the time for another unspecified offence.

The suspect now faces a long list of charges, including five counts of theft of a motor vehicle, break-and-enter, theft over $5,000, mischief to a property, possession of property obtained by crime, failure to comply with a release order, and breach of probation.

Police are still investigating and ask anyone with information to call the Windsor Police Target Base Unit at 519-255-6700 ext. 4350, Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477, or go to www.catchcrooks.com.
