LaSalle police have reminded drivers that running behind is not a reason for stunt driving.
Shortly after 9 a.m. on Thursday, a LaSalle police traffic enforcement officer stopped a vehicle on Highway 18, allegedly clocking 120 kilometres per hour in a 50 kilometre-per-hour zone.
When questioned about the speed, the driver told the officer he was "late for an appointment."
The 20-year-old was ticketed for stunt driving.
His vehicle was impounded for 14 days, and his licence was automatically suspended for 30 days.
"LaSalle Police Service is reminding drivers that being late is not an excuse for excessive speeds and that choosing to drive in such a manner can result in significant penalties," read a release from LaSalle police.
