Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent.
Snow mixed with freezing rain is expected to move into the region late Wednesday night and continue until early Thursday morning.
Up to two millimetres of ice could build up before conditions improve.
The poor weather conditions could cause roads and sidewalks to become slippery.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
