Older adults in the Town of LaSalle will have a chance to take part in free programs in April.
LaSalle Senior Active Living (LSAL) kicks off activities designed for people aged 55 and older.
"We are thrilled to launch LaSalle Senior Active Living, a program to enrich the lives of older adults through a diverse range of activities," said LaSalle Director of Culture and Recreation Patti Funaro. "We look forward to seeing participants enjoy the benefits of this new program."
Weekly learn-and-activity sessions will be held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, starting April 1. Sessions will include yoga, wellness, water activities, card games, painting, knitting, crocheting, and others, encouraging seniors to interact with others and have fun.
Pole walking will take place on Thursdays, starting April 3, at various locations across the Town of LaSalle, weather permitting. In bad weather, pole walking will be held indoors at the Vollmer Complex.
The Cyber Seniors program will help connect older adults with tech-savvy staff for one-on-one help with their electronic devices. The program begins Monday, April 28 at 10 a.m.
Other programs planned in the weeks ahead include Coffee with a Community Leader, additional Sneakers and Speakers sessions, and special seniors' day events.
Pre-registration is required, opening up two weeks in advance of each activity. Everyone aged 55 and older is welcome.
To register, call (519) 969-7771, or visit the LSAL registration page on the LaSalle Active Registration website.
