If you know an artist in Lakeshore, the municipality is looking for nominations for the 2026 Mayor's Art Awards.
"The awards work to celebrate the remarkably talented individuals and organizations that enrich our communities with their creativity," said Lakeshore Mayor Tracey Bailey. "All forms of art play an important role in bringing the people of Lakeshore together to tell our stories."
There are five categories:
* Student Artist Award for students under the age of 21
* Emerging Artist for those with two to seven years of experience
* Creative Entrepreneur Award for businesses and organizations that have demonstrated an impact on the arts community.
* Artistic Excellence Award.
Each of those awards comes with a $1,000 cash prize, except for the fifth category, the Patron of the Arts Leadership Award.
To be eligible, the nominee must live, work, or attend school in Lakeshore.
Nominations will be accepted on the town's website until December 31.
A panel of judges reviews the nominees and will recommend a slate of winners for endorsement by Mayor Bailey.
The awards reception is set for the spring of 2026 at the Atlas Tube Recreation Centre.
