Woman wanted in Windsor bar assault surrenders to police

A woman wanted by Windsor police in connection with an assault at a downtown bar last month has turned herself in.

Officers were called on January 13 to a bar on Ouellette Avenue between Park Street and Maiden Lane. They learned that a woman inside got into an argument with a male customer over a shirt he was wearing.

A bar employee asked the woman to leave, but the suspect allegedly kneed the employee in the face several times before running out.

The 40-year-old suspect has surrendered at Windsor police headquarters and is facing an assault charge.

The charge has not been proven in court.
