LaSalle's integrity commissioner found Councillor Anita Riccio Spagnuolo did not violate the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act when voting to approve pickleball courts at the town's Vollmer Complex.
In September 2025, council approved $2.75 million for the
construction of ten pickleball courts at the Vollmer Complex.
A complainant raised concerns because Riccio Spagnuolo works for the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation as a fundraising specialist and the foundation once benefitted from an event held by the LaSalle Pickleball Association.
Integrity Commissioner Robert Miller found that there is no evidence to support that the councillor had any pecuniary interest- direct or indirect- when voting to approve the construction.
The investigation and subsequent report cost the municipality $16,022.34.
Council will be asked to receive the report for information at its next council meeting on March 14, 2026.
