The Ford International Fireworks start at 10:06 p.m. Monday night, and Windsor Police want to make sure everyone has a safe time.
Large crowds are anticipated at the riverfront for the display, and police ask attendees, especially families, to take note of safety information, road closures, and alternate transportation options.
Parents are asked to take a photo of their child before they set out. If your child is old enough, make sure they have identification and know their parents' or guardians’ phone number, and choose a designated meeting spot in case you're separated. Police also urge parents to report their child missing immediately if they become lost.
If you plan to drive, many streets will shut down at 6 p.m., and vehicles parked in restricted areas will be ticketed and towed. Those riding e-bikes and e-scooters are asked to slow down and obey traffic laws.
Ouellette Avenue will be closed from Wyandotte Street to the riverfront. Riverside Drive will shut down from Devonshire Road to the Ambassador Bridge, and Chatham Street, Park Street and University Avenue will also be closed downtown.

To reduce traffic congestion before and after the fireworks, residents are encouraged to bike downtown or take a shuttle bus from Devonshire Mall. The last bus leaves downtown at 12:15 a.m.
Drones are prohibited during the display. Drones can not be flown during advertised outdoor events without the appropriate Transport Canada authorization. Using drones can pose a serious risk to public safety, emergency responders, and aircraft in the area.
