There's a new pollinator garden in Tecumseh's Lacasse Park.
Earlier this year, the town received funding from Enbridge Gas's Giving Back To Communities, Community Investment Fund for supporting the southwest Panhandle Regional Expansion Project.
Of that funding, $20,000 was used to design and build the garden, with help from Kari Renaud, who owns Lily Designs in Tecumseh.
"Enbridge Gas is pleased to celebrate the unveiling of the Lacasse Park Pollinator Garden," said Megan Shannon, the Municipal Advisor at Enbridge Gas. "This garden will create an important habitat for pollinators while providing residents with opportunities to learn about their role in healthy ecosystems.."
Beth Gignac, Tecumseh's Director of Community and Recreation Services, called it an opportunity to expand biodiversity and naturalized areas within the park.
"From design to completion, this project has been all about community, ensuring we continue to prioritize environmental health, and create spaces for partnerships to flourish," she said.
