The Windsor Spitfires will have another weapon in their arsenal as of this weekend.
The team announced Wednesday that forward Logan Brown is being returned to the squad by his NHL team, the Ottawa Senators. Brown was invited to the Senators training camp and had made the team. He appeared in four games with the Senators, scoring his first ever NHL point in Saturday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The 19-year-old from Chesterfield, Missouri was a key piece of last year's Memorial Cup winning Spitfires team, despite missing some time due to injury.
During the regular season Brown scored 14 goals and had a total of 40 points in 35 games played. He also had a total of four assists throughout the OHL playoffs and the Memorial Cup tournament.
Brown joined the Spits in 2014 following a trade with the Niagara IceDogs. He was taken by the Senators in the first round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, 11th pick overall.
Windsor will have Brown in its lineup Thursday night at North Bay, as the Spitfires begin their annual northern Ontario road swing against the Battalion. His first home game back in a Spits uniform is November 2 against the Hamilton Bulldogs.
