Poultry Research And Technology

Poultry farmers can hear about nanotechnology, food policy and egg production and the latest research at the upcoming research day in Shakespeare.

Poultry Industry Canada is hosting the research day on May 10 at the Shakespeare & District Optimist Hall.

"Innovative technology will be discussed, which is Google Glasses for virtual reality auditing in barns," said Casey Riddle, Education and Extension Programs Manager for PIC. "The whole idea of the technology is to allow auditors to actually see the barn when the farmer puts on the glasses. They're (the farmer) able to walk through the facilities themselves, the auditor can tell them to turn and look to see how many birds are in a cage. And this technology allows auditors to do several different barns in one day."

Poultry Industry Canada's Research Day on May 10 starts at 9:30am and wraps up at 3:30pm in Shakespeare.
